Norman,

Thanks a lot for your postings!

Roy Adkison and his wife Ila (Jamison) lived (I believe) closer to Hico than to Iredell and were in Hamilton County. Roy's mother was Louesa and his father was Jim Adkison. They lived in Hico. This Roy was the first cousin of my grandfather Roy Lee Adkison of Iredell > Big Spring > Fort Worth > & back to Iredell where he died.

My grandfather Roy died about a year before his cousin Roy. He told the story around town about going to town and people telling him that they thought he was dead. Roy and Ila had two children: Carnella Louise and Royce Brenton. They may have been born after you left the area for the war.

My Roy Lee's father, Charlie Adkison an his wife Inez lived out there on the same road. I've been told that the road was probably the old Hwy 6, but no one mentioned it as a narrow gravel road. My great-great grandmother Mary Adkison lived next door to my great grandfather Charlie until her death in 1907. Do you remember Charlie? He died during the war in 1943.

Do you remember any landmarks that might still be there to identify the area?

Thank you,
Jim Culver
