I very much appreciate your responding and your information. I already have everything you sent. The quest is to try to find out what happened to Archie after he abandoned his family sometime in the very early 1900's. That is why the wife (really "Mauzie", not "Manzie") is shown in one of the censuses back living with her parents, and being listed as a widow. I have worked on this some with a cousin in Oklahoma, and we are reasonably certain we have found where he joined the Marines after he left them, and then went AWOL. The family to this day does not know what happened to him. He has a grandson living at Iredell, Charles Blakley, if you want to contact him. He has begged me to find out what happened to Archie... I am very much related, Archies father, John Mack Burson, and my great grandfather, James Asbury Burson, were brothers.
