This "Old 300" database actually includes a core listing of all settlers who had received land grants in Austin's Colony by the eve of the war for independence from Mexico. Over time, this list will be expanded to include ancestors and descendants of those settlers. I have found three Hamiltons who I like to find out if they are related. There is also a list of descendants listed to which one or more members of the core group are related and have information about your ancestors. The Museum at research@bchm.org which has posted these land grants from the Texas Gen Land Office is hoping to find the original settlers ancestors so that they can list them as well. Presently, I am looking to find what Hamiltons lived with the Wharton area because: Joshua F. Hamilton had a land grant of 1 League (4428.4 Acres) on 9 May 1827, within Wharton, Texas. Walter Hamilton had a Land grant made to him of 1 League or(4428.4 Acres)on 30 Apr 1831, within Fayette, Texas What I'd like to accomplish is find where Joshua and Walter Hamilton lived and who their families were. I know nothing of these two men and would like to be come enlightened...there are those Hamiltons who are looking for these men genealogically. Can someone assist me?
