My husband is a great-grandson of the John Randolph Peyton Sr. who lived in Benchley, TX. Some of his descdants still live in the area and there is a Henry-Peyton Cemetery in Benchley where many of his family are buried. I have been learning about the Henry's, the Fullertons, the Bowman's, the McMillan's, The Rice's, and William's families and would like to correspond with others who are related to these families. I have read the "Irish at Stagger's Point" and seen some of the Henry book, but am especially interested in learning more about this Williams family (Isaac Williams and wife, ??, came from outside of Benchley, maybe Tennessee??) and also the Ann McMillan family. (Is anyone related to the Elizabeth McMillan, daughter of James and Barbara Williams McMillan??). We'd like to get in touch with you. We are trying to learn more about the origins of Isaac Williams and was his wife's name, Mary Ann Shirley? Does anyone know the lineage of Margaret V. Foley, who was John Randolph Peyton's first wife? And is there anyone out there in cyberspace who is a descendant of their daughter Emma (who married a W.T. Lassiter?) Also, we have some old Benchley pictures that are scanned that others might want to see. One of the ones we have also hangs in a courthouse building somewhere I am told. We have a lot of early pictures of folks from Benchley, and many are not identified. If interested in corresponding write directly to Jessie Cheek at MikeJessieCheek@cs.com.
