Bill - THANK YOU for helping me again. You helped me to find one other Redden relative which led me to the death certificates I have. I am searching for information on my grt grt grandmother, Harriet Redden (unsure of the spelling). According to one of my elder cousins and her death certificate, she was born in 1849 or 1850 in AL or LA, and died in 1934 Bryan, TX. Her death certificate had "Don't Know" in the places for father, mother, maiden name, and their birthplaces so I don't know if Redden was her birth or married name, and the information was completed by my aunt Margret Grays. Harriet had at least one daughter named Polly White, that she had with a man named Monroe White, but I don't think Harriet and Monroe were married. My dad's family believes that Harriet was part Indian but they don't remember what tribe. I found Polly and Harriet with other family members living in Brazos, Precinct 3, in the 1920 census. The record list Polly as Duchane but her last name at that time was Durham. Harriet was also in this record and listed as an 85 yr old widow. These two women are from my paternal line, one of Polly's seven daughters was my grandmother Minnie Richardson. I need information on Harriet and Polly to continue my research on this line.
