THANK YOU SO MUCH AND PLEASE THANK ALL OF THE MEMBERS OF YOUR CHURCH who are working on this clean-up effort!!!! Since I posted that message back in 2005, I have done a LOT of research on the families of these people who are buried in this Cemetery. I have now identified many of these folks and some of their descendants. I have been in contact with several of the Brazos County Geneological Society members and together we have been able to discover more information about many of these people. My research is far from completed however. Joe Ellison (a Wyche descendant) and another person, of the Texas Research Ramblers were able to photograph the headstones a couple of years ago, braving the overgrown brush to do so. Joe sent me those pictures, so I have been able to see them via computer. I have been working on writing a book about the families of this little community. This book is slow going because I am a busy mom of 5 children and I am now also caring for my 87 year old Father-in-law. I haven't done much work on this book for the past two years, as our family made a big move from Tallahassee, Florida to Houston, Texas. I haven't even managed to find time to visit the cemetery myself, even though I now have one son who attends Texas A & M. Next year I will have two sons attending there. I am now in touch with a number of descendants and other relatives of the folks buried in this cemetery and I am sending them round updates on the Cemetery clean-up as Walt Merka (President of the Brazos County Genealogical Society) informs me about it. I SO appreciate everyone's interest in this cemetery!! I will also e-mail you privately, so we can further our discussion.
