I am not related to this family, just sharing info I found in a book titled, Cemeteries of Brewster County, Texas published in 1985 by the Big Bend Genealogical Society.
It states the following:
"In the fence seperating this lot from that at 412 South First Street is an above ground vault made of granite blocks with a fading inscription:
In Memory of
Thomas C. Dawson
Son of James and Mary Dawson
Born in Uvalde Co. July 15, 1869
Died in Brewster Co. September 11, 1897
Age 28 years 27 days RIP
This would be located in Alpine, Texas.
