Patsy,This is the same family.. On the 1880 Travis County ,TX census.. John Crooks is 58 , he is a boarder and works on the railroad. He was born in Canada. His father in Scotland and his mother in Canada.

Also on the 1880 census his sons..
Robert..age 20
John...age 17
William..age 8
are living in Travis County, TX ..Robert is a farmer.
Listed is their father born in Canada and mother in Ga.

Their mother was a sister to my great grandmother.. Pauline Brown
