I am trying to find information on William Hood, 1859-1945, stone mason, architect, and construction contractor, who supervised construction of the Brown County Jail, St. John's Episcopal Church-Brownwood, and the Hill County Courthouse. Specifically, I'm looking for information on his arrival and naturalization in the US, where in Scotland he was from, and anything about his parents.
He was married to Martha "Mattie" Fisk, daughter of Judge Greenleaf Fisk. It is believed that he came to Texas to work on the State Capitol building in Austin. I believe he also had a brother named Archibald, also a stone mason, who arrived with him.
