The 1900 census shows no notation of year of immigration
The 1910 census says 1880 and he was NA (Naturalized Alien)
The 1920 says Unknown
The 1930 he is enumerated twice -
In Wd 4 with daughter Ruth Johle (widow) he is 70 and immigrated in 1860 - the index at least on Heritage quest says he is 90
Im Wd 3 - he is head of household- it says 1880 NA

Could not locate him in 1880 but they might have mis-stated his birth country also
