I have been searching for 15 years trying to find the parents of my grandmother Annie Smith Walker. The search has led me to a probate record for Archibald Monroe Smith who died July 23, 1922 in Burnet County. Lucinda Whitis was first married in Kentucky to Fielding Shelton and had a son, Cye Shelton. Fielding died about 1882 and Lucinda moved to Burnet county and married J. J. SMITH, 22 Jan 1883, in Burnet county. They had Thomas J., Jesse H., and ANNIE R SMITH my grandmother. by 1888. Lucinda then marries Archibald Monroe Smith on 19 May 1890 supposedly in Burnet county. Archie Monroe Smith was married to Lucinda Whitis/Shelton and in his probate records in Burnet County, Annie Walker is listed as being an heir/daughter of Lucinda. Two sons of Lucinda's are also mentioned Si (Cye) Shelton and Mark Shelton (who is listed as deceased with heirs)." What happend between Lucinda and J. J. Smith? Could there be a divorce record? If there is a divorce record, then it might give a given name of J. J. SMITH Or even if he died, it might give us a name. There might even be a probate for him. Maybe even some land records. An obituary. There also might be a probate for Lucinda who died 15 Jul 1921 and might be buried in Oakalla Cemetry. ANYTHING Please help, Hugh Adams Notify Administrator about this message?
