Thank you, Ginger. That is my mother's cousin.

The birth place information on a census is often incorrect, and this is. He was born in KS and his parents b in IN. After I posted the message I found the Texas online death certificates and learned that he had a 2nd marriage and was living in Marble Falls at the time of his death.

I wondered why he was buried in Brownsville, but that is where his first wife is buried, so now I know why.

My goal of learning what happened to the young man whose photo I inherited has now been accomplished. The only mystery remaining is why he moved from Elk Co. KS, all the way to Brownsville, TX. That will probably remain a mystery.
