Wishing you well on your valuable historic project.
Since the city plot map was lithographed from one in the University of Texz at Austin Library.
Barker History Section perhaps you could get an enlarged copy of that one or maybe there are other maps there that would help in your research.
I am from the neighbor city of Seadrift originally and visited the beach at Indianola several times when I was visiting Seadrift.
Some of my relatives were lost in the hurricaines there and in the other coastal areas.
Some were born on Matagorda Island.
I am glad to know that historical references are being published to keep the memory of this area alive and to let people know the value that it was to the development of Texas and no doubt other points west.
I visited Indianola a couple of years ago and some new development has been going on.
Hopefully with the modern weather forecasting abilities and other engineering abilities that are available now, maybe someday Indianola will rise again.
It is the South! Won't stay down forever!
