Glad to find someone working the Summers family - finally! Henry & Sarah came to the Cove community (west of Trinity River) in early 1850s. Acquired 100 acres on west side of Cotton Bayou from William Cooper & settled there. According to an affidavit by early west Chambers County sage, Z.T. Winfree, Henry & Sarah died there (Cove). Probably buried on their land (along with another early settler, Eularian Dugat) in a now unknown site. I also have their children much the same as you name them. I only wonder about George.
Was Montgomery his middle name or surname (as entered on 1860 census)? There was a George Montgomery from Mississippi in this area who had some sort of affliction & lived with various families. We have never known what happened to the heirs of Henry & Sarah Summers & was delighted to find your entry here! Would like to learn more, if possible (use my e-mail if desired). I am not related to this family (as far as I know), but try to chase down all the old settlers from this immediate area. Hope this helps you in some manner.
