Kendon, Thank you for the quick scan for Morgan's ca 1855. The data I was given stated Archibald MORGAN b St. Genevieve Co., MO and Anne Lucretia MORGAN b St. Martins Pa., LA came to east TX where some of their children were born while others were born in LA. Archibald & Anne Lucretia MORGAN returned to what is now Vermilion Pa., LA. Children listed: Althea/Altha; John Campster; Martha Ann; Solomon; Oliver and Alvin MORGAN (my ggf). Martha Ann MORGAN believe born and married _____SHEPHERD around Cedar Bayou. At that time this area may have been in Liberty County. Alvin MORGAN b 1842 LA d 1909 Brazoria Co., TX listed on 1860 Sabine Pass, Jefferson Co., TX census age 21 "cattle minder." My grandfather Oliver Alvin MORGAN b 1858 Hamshire, Jefferson Co., TX d 1943 Beaumont, Jefferson Co., TX was listed on the 1860 Sabine Pass census "Almond" MORGAN 2 TX with brother Leonard MORGAN 3/12 TX. Great-grandmother Eliza MORGAN (nee Elisa MYERS)17 TX (b LA ca 1836), Malesian (sic) MYERS 15 TX (b LA ca 1844) & Francois GALLIER 65 LA "laborer" (step-gf to girls). No marriage records found for Alvin MORGAN & Elisa/Eliza MYERS. Also believe my ggm Elisa/Eliza and son Leonard are deceased in 1861. Oliver MORGAN brother to Alvin MORGAN possibly residing on Boliver Island mid 1860's or later. Really having a difficult time documenting my MORGAN'S without being able to travel to research. Appreciate any assistance and again thank you for yours. Ruth Morgan McVey mac@txucom.net
