Greetings!
I am searching for information about the first wife of William B. French (born Jan. 13, 1823, Jackson, AL, died July 13, 1908, Edom, Van Zandt, TX). Her name was Elizabeth C. Potter.
They were married about 1848 in DeKalb, AL, and came to Cherokee, Texas in 1852 with two young children. Elizabeth died Oct. 29, 1855 in Jacksonville, Cherokee, TX. Five months later, William re-married to a woman named Susan George (married Mar. 2, 1856, Cherokee, TX), and subsequently moved to Van Zandt, TX before 1860.
I would be very interested to talk to anyone that has information about this family. Also, I am specifically looking for an obituary or death information on Elizabeth (Potter) French, where in Cherokee county she is buried, land records/deeds for William B. French in Cherokee county, and marriage certificate/court records for William B. French and Susan George.
