How did you find this family? I agree it matches but another marriage with a man named Charles? I'm still missing something. I have Vernon L Ragland's death certificate, so I know his name was Ragland. His wife was the informant and she listed his father as Charles Ragland born in Arkansas and his mother as Vannie Johnson born in Arkansas. This was a second wife or maybe third for Vernon so I assumed she put down Arkansas because his mother was born in Arkansas. If Charles A Rogers died or they divorced then she remarried a Charles Ragland born in Arkansas!!
Vannie Ragland remarried after the census in 1920. She is in Wichita Falls Texas in 1930 with new husband, John W. Sanders born 1894 in Louisiana. They have a son, Marcell J Sanders born 1920 in Texas and Vernon is listed as Nernon Ragland age 17 born CA stepson.
Vannie Leola Sanders died in 1948 in Los Angeles CA. I have her death certificate.
I assume Myrtle A Rogers died since she isn't listed on 1920 census and the Frank Ragland listed born 1905 OK is Arthur Frank Rogers born 1905 OK. I can't find a birth record on any of these children.
In 1900 age 10 Vannie Johnson was in Rockwall Texas living with her mother Susie Johnson born abt 1869 in Arkansas. Susie was Susan D Shipp before her marriage and her parents, Roncans and Caroline Shipp,lived in Indian Territory (OK) in 1900.
I really appreciate your help and thank you for the information. I will keep searching but not sure where to go from here. Thanks again.
