Thanks Connie, I appreciate your help.
I've seen the mistakes the census takers make and agree with you.
Vannie was my mother's half sister. Vannie's mother Susan was my grandfather's first wife. He remarried and Susan and Vannie moved or she also remarried, who knows.
I knew from family that Vernon was a card dealer in Las Vegas. His death certificate states occupation as a card dealer in Las Vegas at the time of his death. I never knew she had other children till I started my research. All my family is gone except for my 2 younger sisters and they never knew these relatives so no help with family.
I never found anything on Frank Ragland but will try Rogers and see what I get. I also can't find anything on a Marcell J Sanders that Vannie gave birth to in 1920. I haven't seen any birth records on any of this family. I have a marriage license for my grandfather and Susan D Shipp, Death certificate for Vernon and Vannie and a few pictures of John W Sanders, Vannie, and Vernon. One picture of vernon and his wife but no name on the back of picture for wife. I've been searching for this family on and off for 3 years and so I will keep looking. I've put out sereral messages on the message boards, for Ragland so will try Rogers and see what I get.

Thanks again Connie
I have the flu right now and so I will start looking again as soon as this bug goes away.
Jenevia
