I am looking for the Childress family that owned a Turkey ranch in Childress. My great great grandmother was Mary Ella Childress that married a Smith and moved to Houston. Family story is her father owned a large turkey ranch there. And that he was Indian. Mary (Mammie) had 11 children one died early in life. My great grandmother was the 3rd born and only two of her 4 children are still alive. 5 out of 10 living children had red hair and blue eyes. Sounds odd for Indians but stranger thing have happened? My great grandmother was in her 30's when the Mexican goverment Came to pay her a visit about some money they owned her family. Any info on this family would be great I need names. Thanks Fasha
