Wheeler, 1910 Coleman Co., TX Posted by: Barbara Wilson Dooley (ID *****4420) Date: February 13, 2005 at 10:57:19 of 8245 Is anyone familiar with the family of Benjamin H. Wheeler who is found in the 1910 Coleman Co., TX, census? He was 61, born in TN, and was listed with his second wife, Lucy. (this was her second marriage, also). With them are 7 yr. old daughter, Geppesler???(just not sure about that name!); 5 yr. old Carl; and 3 yr. old Georgia. Lucy's children by her first marriage (they are listed as Benjamin's stepsons) are Stephen Lefler, 18, and Edgar Lefler, 16. Then there is John W. Clark, father-in-law. No way to know if he was the father of the 1st wife or the 2nd. Finally, there comes the listing I'm very interested in. Bessie Dooley, niece, 17. I'm looking for a Bessie Dooley who lived in an orphanage in Chattanooga, Hamilton Co., TN, at the time of the 1900 census and wonder if this might be she. Her age is off by about 3 years, but that happens so many times, I don't worry about it. I think the TN Bessie was the daughter of Edward Brown Dooley and his wife, Lena, who were deceased by 1900. In this 1910 census, Ben, Lucy, John, and Bessie were all born in TN. Next door to Benjamin were Bud Wheeler, 29, and his wife Lucy, 21. If anyone has any information to give me about this family, I would be very grateful. Notify Administrator about this message?
