I am trying to find some information on the following family:
John C. 'Critt' Hawkins b Apr 1851 MO
Nancy E. 'Nonny' Croley b Jan 1856 MO
married abt 1873

They were in Wise Co.,Texas for the 1880 census where John listed his parents birthplaces as unknown, Nancy listed Mother KY, father unknown.
1900 Census John listed Father-KY Mother-KY Nancy listed Father-KY Mother- TN married for 27 years once, 13 children, 8 still living

They had the following children in Wise Co.,TX
1) Linnie L. b 1874 married a William B. Kirby (who was Postmaster in Wellington, Collingsworth Co from 8 Nov 1905 to 28 Apr 1913)
They had the following children:
Odus b 1893 Wise Co
Estil b 1895 Wise Co
Ira b 1897 Wise Co
Ennis b 1906 Wellington

2) John Prince b Apr 20,1876 d May 29,1936 Wellington, Collingworth Co.,TX married Susie Beulah b-Dec 5,1885 d Apr 7,1972 they married about 1903 and were divorced between 1910-1936.

3) Lillie W. b 1879 married betwenn 1899-1900 to ??

4) George C. b Nov 1881 married a Mattie R..

5)James M. b Jan 1887 1910 single on census

6) Edward T. b-Nov 1890 {was enumerated twice on the 1910 census- once with parents and again with brother James}

7) Maggie E. B-Nov 1894

8) Jessie N. b-Sept 1897

Every one in this family was in Collingsworth County for the 1910 census.

My problems:

1)Linnie and William were married in Wise CO, Feb 8,1892. They were not in Texas for the 1900 census. Wherever they went they also did not have children until they returned. Where did they go?

2) John Prince was born in Wise Co, as per his death certificate. The informant was a Claude Simpson of Lutie. Who was this person.

I need someone to find out if his murder was in the paper and how I can get a copy of it. He was listed on his death certificate as a homicide, but the wounds don't make since so I am trying to find out more. He was my great grandfather and my grandfather and great grandmother would never talk about him.
The homicide occured in Lutie on May 29,1936.

Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Betty Scarborough
