I don't know anything specific about these people, unfortunately, but perhaps I can point you in the right direction.
The only newspaper I know of that might be helpful would be the Wellington Leader. It has been in operation for many years and I know they have archives. I would write to them for help. Lutie is now a wide place in the road just north of Wellington on highway 83, but was probably larger back then.
Linnie and William may have been in Indian Territory or Oklahoma (adjacent to Collingsworth Co.) during the period they were missing. Lots of people tried to homestead there during the 1890's. I have found 3 different lines of my family who did the same thing, and the records can be hard to trace, unfortunately. The USGenWeb site for OK/Indian Territory is really good; I'd try there.
