Looking for descendants of or information on this Dobbs family in Collingsworth County from 1910 through the 1930 Census. CLAUD(E) R. DOBBS, a "farmer," (b. abt. 1870), his wife, VIRGINIA/GINNEY/JENNIE. (1) Son EMMETT DOBBS, (b. abt. 1894 & d. 1928, TX) married ESTHER CECELIA SULLIVAN. (2) Son ROY DOBBS, (b. 1896, d. 1969 in Lubbock, TX). Roy married NELLE T. PAYNE. Their children: (i) ROY DOBBS, JR (b. abt. 1924) and DOROTHY DOBBS, (b. abt. 1927). Son AUBREY M. DOBBS, (b. abt. 1902) married LOLA G. In the 1930 Census Aubrey is listed as "publisher" of a "weekly newspaper." (4) Daughter SHIRLEY DOBBS, (b. abt. 1908)
Claud's younger brother was THOMAS WHITMAN DOBBS, (b. 1880, d. 1967 in Wellington.) He married LOLA BELLE who also died in the county in 1969. Their 9 children, some of whom were born in Collingsworth, are: (1) OREN MELTON DOBBS, (b. 1903, d. 1967); (2) EDNA MAE DOBBS, (b. 1906, d. 1969) married BONNIE LEATHERS & THOMAS HENRY WINKLER. (3) BONNIE DOBBS, (b. abt. 1908); (4) WALTER ROBERT DOBBS, (b. abt. 1911, d. 1986 in Collin Co., TX); (5) ESSIE M. DOBBS, (b. abt. 1914); (6) CHRISTINA H. DOBBS, (b. abt. 1917); (7) LUELLA L. DOBBS, (b. abt. 1920); (8) JACK L. DOBBS, (b. abt. 1922); (9) JAMES D. DOBBS, (b. abt. 1927). Any help locating descendants of my grandmother's brothers' families would be appreciated.
