Cemetery name

Years ago my father showed me a place outside the city limits of New Braunfels that once was, still is I am sure, a cemetery. There, the grave markers were tree trunks which bore carvings of the name, dates of birth and death and maybe other information about the deceased. A fire swept through the area and burned all the markers. My father knew where his grandmother, Dorothea Pape Neeb was buried and kicked through the ashes. He found a piece of metal which had the letters of her name and dates of her birth and death. The carving went all the way through the metal. Can anyone identify that cemetery? I don't know if her husband, Ludwig Heinrich Neeb, is buried there or not. I found a little book among my father's possessions when he died which has the information that Ludwig is buried between a Walter Neeb (born 14 June, 1886 and died 24 Feb. 1887, son of Charles Neeb and Margarethe Vogt) and Willie Reininger (born 01 July 1882 and died 05 or 08 January 1887, son of Wilhelmina Teresa Neeb and George Reininger). These two children were grandsons of Ludwig Heinrich Neeb. Can anyone tell me the name of this cemetery? Are both of the above mentioned sites the same cemetery? I am a member of The Daughters of the Republic of Texas, and because Ludwig, my great grandfather, was a citizen of the Republic of Texas, I can place a medallion at the site of this cemetery since I am unable to mark his grave. I hope someone can identify this place, or these places. I know that Ludwig's wife lived in the Gruene area after his death. Thanks for any help given.
