In about 1880, James D Little was working for a Mexican Rail-road in El Paso, Texas, and he got killed. He had several children, and according to a copy of a letter that I saw that was written by John Oliver Little to Singleton Little in Anson County, NC, The grandfather of the children had to ride a train from somewhere near Comanche County, Texas to St. Louis, then to El Paso to get the children and take them home with him. I do not know the name of the Grandfather, but I know Willis Dempsey Little, who lives in Abilene, TX. He is a grandson of James Dempsey Little.
James Dempsey Little was a son of John C Little, who was a grandson of Captain Daniel Little, who settled in Rowan County, NC in about 1750.
I would welcome any correspondence from anyone who knows anything about this family.
