John Wesley Hardin claimed among his "credits": {possibly
Commanche County-he had killed Brown County Texas Deputy Sherriff Charles Webb May 26, 1874 in Commanche County}
*May 1, 1874 claimed to have knocked down a negro and shot another negro; several days after this claimed to have been part of a mob who burned a negro named "Eli" in a jail.
*July 1, 1874-claimed to have driven off 17 Texas rangers
and to have killed one.
Can these claims be confirmed?
