The above is from the LDS FamilySearch site, and I'm willing to bet Branton is actually Braxton and grandfather of your Braxton. And, like your Braxton also is a doctor.
I'm willing to bet the Pearce sisters-in-law are sisters to Mary and that would mean her maiden name was Pearce, too.
