From what records I have seen, Nathaniel W. Broughton's second wife was Missoura Catherine Roscoe, nee Lewis.
Her previous husband was Lucian or Lucias Roscoe. She was born 15 April 1866 in Mississippi. In the 1880 census She is enumerated in Pontotoc County, Mississippi. Her father is only identified as E. Lewis. Her mother is only identified as Bettie L. Lewis. There are two other children in the household - John and Levi Lewis. Missoura Catherine Lewis apparently moved to Texas before 1887 and may have been in Tarrant County by 1890. Missoura first married Lucian W. Roscoe, Sr. but the exact date and place is unknown to me. I also do not know when and where Lucian W. Roscoe, Sr. died and was buried.
Missoura Catherine then married Nathaniel William Broughton as his second wife 29 Dec. 1895 in Comanche County, Texas. Nathaniel raised Missoura's three small children; Winfield Scott Roscoe, Ida Rebecca Elizabeth Roscoe, and Lucian Walter Roscoe, Jr.
Missoura died 22 June 1941 in Yorktown, De Witt County, Texas and was buried in Brownwood.
I am trying to futher identify who Missoura Catherine's father and mother were as well as when and where she married Lucian W. Roscoe, Sr. Also when and where Lucian W. Roscoe, Sr. died and was buried.
Any help would be appreciated.
