Just saw your posting. Interesting to me is that my great grandfather was from Mier. His name was Vidal Garza. Don't know if he had any brothers or sisters, but do know that he married Teresa (or Tereza) Kennedy. They lived in Palo Blanco (Norbetano) Texas at the time of my grandfather's birth in 1882.
