Am seeking info on C.G. Dawson, that was killed when a cable snapped and pulled him off the Scollard Building in Dallas, TX. His death was on Jan 30, 1924 and the article ran in the Dallas Morning News on Feb 2, 1924 complete with photo of him. This would be the GG-grandfather of my granddaughter as I am researching my sons's wife's family, as not to confuse anyone reading this. The last paragraph of the story ran like this: Dawson, who recently came to Dallas from Waxahachie, is survived by his wife, and four children, R.L. Dawson, aged 10 years; Wilma Etta,7, Joseph A.., and Doris Naomi, 2. Can anyone help with the name of his wife and also where he and perhaps his wife also, buried? I know the general lines of Wilma Etta and Doris Naomi, but what became of R.L. Dawson and Joseph A. Dawson? R.L, Joseph, Doris Naomi, and Wilma Etta are on the 1930 Census with the Walter S. Helms family in Waxahachie, Ellis Co., TX. Also, listed are Arrie Helms, wife of Walter, Milton C. Helms, age 3, Lynar R. Helms, age 1/2 year, and Martha F. Helms, age 72 as grandmother. There is also Grady Dawson, 5, that is now mentioned. I feel that maybe C.G. Dawson's wife was a Helms, or could this Arrie Helms, age 25, been C.G's wife and now married to Walter? She might have been expecting a child when C.G died in Jan 1924 and that could be the Grady Dawson that is 5 on the 1930 census. And does the G. in C.G. stand for Grady? I know, much of this is just guesswork for now. Any information on the Dawson family appreciated. Judy Malone Jackson, Tenn. Notify Administrator about this message?
