Not related, but wanted to help. J. L. McDonald died in July 1940. Apparently, first wife died before 1930. Obit published on July 17, 1940 in Dallas Morning News states that his widow was Cecilia Zahner whom he married in 1930. One son, Earl, died in 1933. His obit does not name his mother. Both are buried in Myrtle. Both of these obits are published in the Dallas Morning News. I know this is not what you asked for, but I don't have any plans to go to library any time soon and thought this might help since you don't live in the area.
