hi Ruth, I found a little more on your J. W. Manning (I'm volunteering today at our local museum and have access to some things). In the 1895 Waxahachie Telephone Directory, J. W. Manning is listed at 417 College St. Unfortunatley many of the old houses on this street no longer exist, and for the ones that do the street addresses were changed many years ago. I also found his obit in the Waxahachie Enterprise. So if you dont have a copy of it and would like it just email me and I'll scan it and send it.
