Looking for the parents of John J (Jackson ?)Smith b. 9 Jan 1852, d. 13 Feb 1924. He is buried in Forrest Grove Cemetery, Telephone, Fannin County, Texas. He was married to Sarah Cassentine "Cassie" Sullivan 27 Jul 1873. Cassie was born 8 Oct 1852 in MS and died 7 Mar 1930 -- the daughter of Z N and Elizabeth Sullivin I believe.
John was very inconsistent with the birth locations for himself and his parents on census records. On the 1880 Census Upper Lafave, Yell, Arkansas he states his birth in KY, father in KY, and mother in TN. On the 1900 census Justice Precinct 6, Fannin, Texas he states his birth KY, his father NC, and his mother in KY. On the 1910 Census Justice Precinct 6, Fannin, Texas he states his birth in MS, his father in KY, and his mother in KY.
John and Cassie's children were:
Linsey Smith
Lillie Mae Smith married Robert Taylor Emerson
Sarah Josephine "Sallie" Smith married Lewis Samuel Roberts
Arthur Dennis "A D" Smith married Bessie May Ferguson
Cassie had a sister Josephine Margaret Sullivan who married Linsey H Shuffield.
Cassie Sullivan Smith, A D Smith, Linsey H Shuffield, Lillie Mae Smith Emerson, Robert Taylor Emerson and other Emerson family members are also buried in Forrest Grove Cemetery.
