Griffis Family from TN

I am trying to find out information on the Griffis family from TN. They settled near my gr gr grandmother Lucinda Willis Windle in Lamasco after the death of her husband my gr gr grandfather John William Windle in 1867.

I think the relationship of the Griffis' and Windle's go back to TN. I have some affidavits by Mrs. A. E. Griffis, and Robert Griffis for Lucinda's War Pension for John William's service in the Mexican War.
