Dear Ms. Rambo,
Yes, this is the Rhody Warren I have been researching. I located her via her death certificate, which you kindly copied, several months ago. Her husband, John Hiner Milsap, was once the sheriff of Lamar county, Texas. He and his family were originally from Pontotoc Co., Mississippi.
I am inclined to believe the death certificate is incorrect regarding Rhody's birth place. Her husband was from Pontotoc, but Rhody was likely born at Palo Alto, Chickasaw co. (now Clay Co.), Mississippi.
I am trying to find where she married John Milsap. Rhody Milsap's obituary, published in 1937, in Abilene, states she was married in 1869 and then moved to Lamar county, Texas. This leads me to believe she was married in Mississippi, but without documentation, I have been assuming she could have married around Lamar county.
Perhaps I will never know, but I will say the Family Search records site has been a boon to me for all of my Texas family members.
