I'm looking for a photo of THREE GROVES, the house built c. 1842 by Samuel Alexander Roberts, former Secretary of State of the Republic of Texas. The Writings of Sam Houston described this house as a "showplace." Prof. Brian Hart called the house "Three Groves." I've learned that the old house stood on the edge of the BONHAM HIGH SCHOOL property and was maintained in good shape as late as 1935. Samuel Alexander Roberts' daughter Mary Roberts married Joseph Francis Anthony. Their son Harry Anthony married Lila Yerion and had two daughters: Laudys L. Anthony (who married Henry B. Taliaferro and moved to Oklahoma City) and Gladys R. Anthony, a Bonham, TX, school teacher who died in 1948. Would love to find any old photos of her or her great-grandparents' house in old Bonham High School yearbooks from 1900 to 1949. Does anyone know if the school library or the public library has a set of the annuals? Notify Administrator about this message?
