I am trying to get information on my grandfather, James (Jimmy) Thigpen, who left North Carolina at the approximate age of 17 years old and relocated to Thompsons, Texas. We were told that his father was Choctaw. The names of Martha (1816-1923) and Rebecca (Becky) were found in my father's (George) papers. My siblings and I are estimating that Martha is either Jimmy's mother or aunt, Dora is his sister, and Becky is either his sister or sister-in-law. Jimmy married Ruella McCall from Alabama and had 10 children (Eddie, John Payne, Jessie, Bertha, Willie Mae ("Blossom"), Beulah ("Blooma"), George ("Bud"), Rosie, Thomas "T.W."), and Ruth. Any information provided would be greatly appreciated.
