I’m seeking information on the family and background of John C. Grimes, born in Tennessee around 1826. He was married to an “Eveline B. ____,” also born in Tennessee around 1829.” John C. Grimes and his family are listed on the 1850 Census for Lawrence County, Tennessee; and the 1860 Census for Lewis County, Tennessee. His son, John Robert Grimes (born 1851), was my great-grandfather. John Robert Grimes married Ellen Virginia Baker of Weakley County, Tennessee in 1872, and later migrated to Tarrant County, Texas, where my grandmother, Clara Grimes Culwell, was born. Any information on this branch of the Grimes family will be greatly appreciated.
