I am looking for informaiton on the family and parents of John Wesley Martin. He is my gggrandfather. He was born in Helena Arkansas in 1840 and died in Lincolton, Ga in 1890. He was married to Mary Elizabeth Lang. I found his burial listing and know he was buried in Lincolnton City Cemetery with his wife and some other Lang relatives. The burial listing stated he fought in the Civil war - 11 Texas Cavalry Company K. (Young's Regiment 3 Texas Cavalry)as a private. I have found his records - he enlisted as J W Martin and went by Wesley. I have read that his father's name might have been John, Jr, son of John, grandson of Abraham martin from Ireland, Virginia, and then Edgefield. I haven't been able to verify that information just yet. Thanks!! Suzanna
