Hello all. I am Margie Yvonne 'Wood' Israel. I live in California. I was born and raised in Henderson County, Texas. I have heard my family mention, many times, of our Wood family having lived and died in Ellis County, Texas, as well as other counties in Texas. I am, now 81-years of age. I was born and lived in Henderson County, Texas until I was 12-years of age, when my family moved to the San Joaquin Valley in California, where I have lived these many years, marrying and raising my family here.
My Mom was Minnie 'Williams' Wood. My Dad was Henry Houston Wood. Mom was born in Burleson County, Texas. Dad was born in Van Zandt, County, Texas. The family lived many years in Henderson, County, Texas, where Mom and Dad lived and died in their older years. There were three brothers, Victor, Henry and Fletcher, and one sister, June, and me, Margie, in our family.
My paternal grandparents were Elbert Malachiah and Anna Cora 'Houston' Wood. My maternal grandparents were William Arthur and Eurah 'Harrelson' Williams. My Dad had one brother named Gordon Wood, and six sisters named, Kate, Carrie, Amy, Bee, ?, ?. Mom had one sister named Mamie. and 4 brothers named, Percy, Felger, Dellus and Fletcher Williams.
