Hi, I was wondering if my ancestor is not listed in any of the online TX death databases, is it possible he still has a death certificate filed with the state?

I am looking for obituary and/or death certificate of
T. J. Benson, b. 1854, d. 1921 in Lamar Co., TX
and his wife, Lulu Benson, b. 1856, d. 1911 in Lamar Co., TX.

Is it worth a shot to submit an application for a death certificate if not in the online databases?
