Hugh, your insight has been very helpful. I'm going to assume the birth certificate for 1927 which listed 4 births is completely wrong (even tho my father did have two older sisters. The 1927 birth certificate listed four "living" children(inc. the 1927 birth), and that can't be right if an infant was born in 1922 and in 1926 because that would have made 5 children. Don't know how such a screwed up certificate came into existance, but it sure did mess with my research ability. Okay, so I have: 1922 most likely a misscarriage 1926 birth where unnamed infant died in less than a month 1928 birth which was my father. I hope I got it straight now. I will follow up as you suggest with the records of Archer County on the unamed infant. Thanks so much for your patience in helping me straighten this out. Notify Administrator about this message?
