Christmas Dinner
Mr. and Mrs. N. KECK celebrated Christmas Day with a delicious dinner, having as their guests, their daughters, Mrs. DICK CAIN and family of Spanish Fort, Mrs. ALVIN SOUTH of Shady Grove, LEE HANDSON, their nephew of Eagle Point, Miss LUCY of Nocona.

Hear F. D. STRONG at the Central Christian Church Sunday.

MCGREW & Son, confectionary, will move from their place near the old post office to the north part of the building just vacated by the Please-well Tailor Shop. W. M. HAGLER will occupy the south half with his tailor shop.

Mr. and Mrs. EDGAR EAKINS and children of Spanish Fort visited her mother, Mrs. F. B. STUMP in Nocona. They will leave in about two weeks for Colorado where they have bought land.

BOB KELLEY, famous saddle maker, was a Bowie visitor Monday.

Pleasewell-Hagler Deal
Messrs. HORTON and ALEXANDER sold their remaining interests in the Pleasewell Tailor Shop to W. M. HALGER. Horton and Alexander are moving their plant, equipment and stock to Memphis, Texas.

Prof. ROE E. SCOTT and family moved from the Mrs. W. E. PRICE residence to Mrs. P. C. JORDAN’S place out in the country near Blue Mound.

Judge H. W. HUNT of Montague was a Nocona business visitor.

Sunday School Party
Misses SALLIE MCGAW and RUTH PRIDDY of the Long Branch community entertained their Sunday School classes Friday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. MCGAW. Music by Misses FLORINE STEWART and LIZZIE CLAY was enjoyed. Attending: Misses NELL BROOKS, BESSIE PRIDDY, LOLA BAKER, FAY STEWART, FLORINE STEWART, LIZZIE CLAY and VIRGINIA ADAMS of Nocona; Messrs. JIM MCGAW, EARL BROOKS, BUD BROOKS, JOE FARRIS, CHARLIE, WALTER and MARVIN CHAMBERS, GLENN FARRIS, KENT STEWART, ROY DUNCAN, EARL POWERS, BUSTER GIBSON, ROBERT MCGAW of Dallas and JOHN STEWART of Boonsville and the hostesses.

M. M. GILBERT, cashier of the Bonita National Bank, and ALBERT WILLET, a Bonita business man, were in Nocona.

Mr. ROE and Miss ROENA NEWMAN and Miss PAULINE DAVIS returned to Sherman where they are attending the Austin College.

Judge W. T. RUSSELL Dead
County judge W. T. RUSSELL died suddenly when he started to the courthouse and stopped at Clark’s Drug Store, sat down and died before anything was noted to be wrong. He was brought to the old family home at Nocona, now occupied by his daughter, Mrs. O. B. CURLIN, Monday afternoon, and the funeral was held there Tuesday afternoon by Elder F. D. STRONG of Fort Worth and interment was at the Nocona Cemetery.

WILLIAM T. RUSSELL was born at Birmingham, Alabama, September 3, 1861, died January 2, 1921, 59 years old. He lived in Nocona for many years until he was elected county judge two years ago. He was re-elected last year without opposition. He was respected and loved by all. … Judge Russell is survived by his wife, four sons and five daughters. The sons are: GERVAISE, BUFFORD, COLLIS, DOUGLAS; the daughters are Mrs. O. B. CURLIN and Mrs. HARRY SALMON; Misses OPAL, LORAINE and KAZELLETTE.

Local and Personal
THOMAS C. TRIPP was in Ryan, Oklahoma on business.

THOMAS LEMON came from Dallas to spend the holidays with homefolks.

Mr. and Mrs. O. D. CARMICHAEL are the parents of a fine girl born Thursday, Dec. 30.

Miss GLEN ALLEN returned to her school work at Byers after spending the holidays with homefolks.

Mr. and Mr. WILLIE WILSON of El Reno, Oklahoma are the guests of Mrs. PEARL BARCUS this week.

Mr. and Mrs. MARLOW of Denison were the guests of Mrs. FANNIE STOKER, and daughter Miss KATE HARDY.

Miss ULA MCKEY of Park Springs visited Mrs. CLARK MCNEW and Mrs. MAC PORTER during the holidays.

Mr. and Mrs. L. S. HILL of Route 3 were called to Oklahoma Friday by the death of a daughter, Mrs. HENRY.

Mrs. J. O. COBB returned home after visiting her brother, WALTER NIVENS and family of near Bonita.

Mr. and Mrs. GEORGE and Mrs. NINA BRATCHER of Dallas visited Nocona friends and relatives.

Mrs. OLA TARWATER of Ada, Oklahoma visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. D. CARMICHAEL.

Misses CARMEN and CLARA CRAIN left for their school work at Fort Worth and Austin after visiting homefolks.

Misses TEXANNA and MATTIE HODGES returned to their school at Ringgold after visiting homefolks.

R. B. PRICE left for Rio Grande Valley where they expect to buy homes and better their farming conditions.

Mrs. T. R. STUMP has been ill.

S. A. BARRON received a telegram from his mother saying his stepfather, L. STARRETT, had died at the family home at Rogers, Arkansas and Mr. BARRON left on the night train for Arkansas.

JACK MCGRADY left for Indiana where he is attending the Culver Military Academy after spending the holidays with Mr. and Mrs. H. W. WRIGHT and Mr. and Mrs. C. E. QUILLIN.

Prof. R. L. COLHTARP and family of Margaret visited Nocona relatives. They were joined here by their daughter, Miss VERA S. who is attending Baylor Belton College for Girls.

Dr. N. W. CRAIN, whose office is over BOWDRY’S Drug Store, has been appointed surgeon for the M. K. & T. Railway.

Mr. and Mrs. CLARK MCNEW, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. LONG, Mr. and Mrs. MERRITT, and Mr. and Mrs. R. M. MCNEW and son B. M., motored to Belcherville and Belknap for an outing.

Mrs. D. A PRICE, who has been seriously sick for some time, was taken to the Baptist Sanitarium at Dallas to be operated on for appendicitis and gall stones. Mr. Price and Mrs. J. G PRICE accompanied her.

The following were guests of Mr. and Mrs. R. T. ANDERSON during the holidays: Mr. and Mrs. J. W. SAPPINGTON and son of Ringling, Oklahoma; Mr. and Mrs. J. W. CRENSHAW of Hollis, Okla., Mr. and Mrs. E. L. HAYS and daughters, KATHERINE and DOROTHY, Mr. and Mrs. DAVIE KIBBLER and son JAMES, Mr. and Mrs. HENRY COMBS and son GRADY, all but the last, from Gainesville.

Mr. and Mrs. J. T. HARASON and sons J. C. and EVERETT and Mrs. WALTER HILL attended the funeral of HUGH MOORE, son of Mr. and Mrs. SAM MOORE of Saint Jo last Sunday. Hugh was taken ill suddenly Friday and died Saturday, from the effects of meningitis which he had as a baby. He was 11 years, 11 months, 20 days old.

Mr. and Mrs. J. E. CHISHOLM and children of Montague, and Mr. and Mrs. HENRY NEWMAN and son of Memphis, Texas were guests of Mrs. B. R. NEWMAN for Christmas.

Mrs. G. O. LEMON was called to Vernon last week by the illness of her daughter, Miss OLLIE, who teaches school there.

Little SUDIE CHARLINE LEMON, little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. D. LEMON, died Friday, Dec. 31, 1920, at age of two months and twenty days. The funeral service was held at the Molavee Chapel Saturday, conducted by Elder D. S. BRUBAKER, and interment at the Molsbee cemetery.
