I encourage people to get their queries out there, every place they can think of -- GenForum, GenWeb, Rootsweb etc. On surname, state and county sites, too. You never know who will look at which sites. Sometimes it is a waiting game. I had a lady contact me over a query I had posted several years earlier on the Jackson Co, TN GenWeb site. She wanted to know if I had any more on the family since my post. Shoot, I had to go back and look at that old post first. Yes, I was able to help her, but personally I think I was the winner. She had a photo of my husband's ancestor who was killed in the Civil War, and she emailed me a copy. Not many picture taken before the war, I was thrilled. (^_^)
