Thank you for the information of the Riley family. And, as you suggested, I should have given dates for Susan and John: Susan Isabelle was born in 1855 and John in 1857, both in Louisiana. Lenora Levenia Riley was my maternal grandmother, and as is so common, I didn't ask the right questions and/or didn't listen!
