Hello Patty,
I'm sorry for your loss. I didn't know your father; I'm just a volunteer that helps folks on some of the forums.

You might have better luck posting on the Hartley Co. or Dallam Co. (that's Dallam with an M, not an S...2 different palces) forum. Look at the Texas forum, up on the upper right corner. Click where it says "Counties for this State." You'll get a list of the Texas counties (there's 254), click on Dallam or Hartley (he actually lived in Dallam Co.; he was taken to the hospital in Harltey Co.) and post there.

The Family Search Pilot Project has Texas death certficate images on line. I found your father's death certificate. The link is below. If you want to see it, look at the actual image, rather than the index. The image has much more information. Briefly, he had only been in Hartley Co. 6 months. The informant on the death certificate was the Dhonau Funeral Home in Cloverport, KY. He is buried at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Cloverport.

There's information on his parents, his address in Dalhart and so on. If you have trouble opening the link, let me know.

You might see if the funeral home in Cloverpoint is still there and maybe there's an obituary.

And just FYI, Dalhart is partially in Dallam Co. and partially in Hartley Co.

Good luck,
Andrea
