Thank you. I have his Texas records. The information I provided was directly from the source cite: Memorial and Biographical History of ... I noted that the dates in the source were strange. I have just found his 1850 Crawford Co GA census, I think. Based on the two children Albert and Elbert born Nov 1869. But he is listed as James not John.

1850 Beasley, Crawford, Georgia, pg 446.

He didn't have a Texas Civil War Pension according to the Texas State Library and Archives cite. Well at least not as John.

Still looking for current descendants to confirm information on his parents, because I am really looking for his two sisters who married Visage men.
