I have started researching (at this time, I have very little info, a few census records) Malcom C. Morrison b. 12-24-1795 NC d. 12-13-1851 Richmond, NC
m. (1) 12-27-1827 Mary McMillan b. 1803 d. 7-1-1837 Richmond, NC.
They had 4 children: Margaret Anne b. 11-22-1822, Archibald b. 12-22-1824, Murdock b. 12-18-1826, & Gilbert McMillan Morrison b. 4-18-1835 NC
m. (2) Catherine McFayden b. abt 1820 NC d. 9-21-1889
They had 4 children Mary Catherine b. 7-27-1841 NC, John Alexander b. 2-3-1845 NC d. Texas, Robert Henry b. 9-12-1847, & Archibald Morrison b. 11-27-1850 in North Carolina.
I have found some members of the family buried in the Morrison Cemetery, Richmond County, North Carolina. I am confused on the McPherson surname-not sure how they tie into the Morrison line. I would really appreciate it if anyone has tombstone or family photos that they will share with me, as well as any additional information on this family, such as Malcolm's parents, other siblings, ancestors, etc., family stories.
I am particularly interested in John Alexander Morrison who migrated to Texas. John m. Queen Victoria Coveringten b. Aug 1847 NC d. 10-29-1928 Rockdale, Milam Co., Texas.
They had 7 children: Gilbert b. abt 1858 NC d. before 1909 Texas, Francis b. 6-1866 NC, Margaret b. 11-1871 Tx, Mary b. 4-1875 Tx, James A. b. 12-1877 Tx, Virginia b. 6-1881 Tx, & Daniel Merdic Morrison b. 2-8-1888 Tx.
When John migrated to Texas with his wife, Queen Victoria & family they settled in Milam County, Texas. From what information that I have John was the only one in his family that migrated to Texas, it would be interesting to find why he migrated to Texas while his parents and siblings stayed in North Carolina. It appears that his father, Malcom was a man of some wealth since the 1850 Slave Census list quite a few slaves that belonged to him.
I am still searching for documentation, records, etc. for the Wolf Pitt, Richmond County, North Carolina area.
