Alice: thanks for your suggestions...I have just spent the day at the Sam Houston Library in Liberty and all I accomplished was verifying that Sallie (Sarah) Griffin was the second wife of Aaron CherryIII. My grandmother was born in 1877 in Milam County and was married there in 1898 to Hadley James Coward... I get the feeling that they didn't settle there...I spoke to Doris Crow the widow of Ellen Alma Cherrys son, Marion but all she knew was Sarah of Sallie Griffin....So I guess my nest thing to do is visit Hardin County Courthouse...thanks, edith
