Hi Brendon,
I think I am a descendant of James TYACK and Catherine MCKENNA who married in Victoria mid c1850s. James came out on the ship "Miltiades" c1852 age adult, and a William TYACK age 18 was also on board. James was a miner from Cornwall.
Catherine was a daughter of Thomas MCKENNA and Bridget SHERRY of Ireland who arrived in South Australia and travelled to Victoria.
Children of James & Catherine include Thomas TYACK or Thomas TAIG - my grandfather on my father's mother's side. Thomas TYACK was born in 1861 at Indigo Victoria. James died in c1867 and Catherine married Edward QUIGLEY - one child with him died after a few days only.
Does any of this make sense to you? I cannot find a death for Thomas TAIG/TYACK in NSW though he lived there all his married life as far as I know, any clues gratefully received from.
Allannah searching TAIG, TYACK, GARMENT, MCCARTHY, MCKENNA, TAAFFE, HANLEY and FAHEY.
